About Me

I’m Brett Ashley Crawford, PhD, currently an Associate Teaching Professor in the Joint CFA/Heinz College Arts Management program at Carnegie Mellon University.  I am also the Executive Director/Publisher of the Arts Management and Technology Lab. I also run a private consulting practice for individuals and institutions wanting executive coaching, leadership development, technology improvement assessments and audience experience design.

I have two active research projects. One focuses on empowering civic engagement via emerging technology pathways. This project is going to do beta-testing with 3 prototypes over the spring. Results from this work will be shared on the Arts Management and Technology Lab website and through our funder, Metro21.

My second project takes previous research into the work of women producers on Broadway and examines ways to gain greater meaning through digital visualizations. The research was completed during my PhD studies and will take awhile to move from an analog collection to a digital dataset.

Good company in a journey makes the way seem shorter. — Izaak Walton
